Whale Watching Tours

During the winter months, West Maui is one of the best whale watching areas on the islands. Roughly between October through March, Humpback whales make their migration through the North Pacific Ocean. Whales travel through the warm waters of Hawaii to breed, give birth and raise calves.

While you may be able to see whales from the shore, whale watching tour operators often have knowledgable staff on-board that will give you in-depth knowledge about these magnificent mammals. Boat tours also will give you a better view of the whales as they surface for air.

There are many tour operators that range from the more-adventurous rafts to private yachts. The Kaanapali Shores Activities Desk will help you find the best tour for you, where you can sail through the Pacific while gazing out at the beautiful, larger-than-life Humpback Whales.
